Mac Rogers
The Coastal Gallery
Mac is a native of Orangeburg, SC and graduated from Clemson University in 1972. He began flying and painting at a young age, and pursued flying as a career and painting as a hobby - until 2004. Painting then became a very pleasurable second career.
Mac retired June 1, 2004 from a 25 year career as a pilot for Delta Air Lines in Atlanta. While living in the Atlanta area he studied with Ben Shute, founder of the Atlanta College of Art, and Tony Couch - fellow Delta pilot and acknowledged watercolor artist, author, and teacher.
Mac and Melanie, his bride of 38 years and also of Orangeburg, have been residents of the Beaufort area since 1989. They have two children and four grandchildren.
Mac enjoys painting landscapes from all areas – but especially places and people of the South Carolina Lowcountry.
